U15 Warriors take out Div 2 District Premiership
Under 15s defeated South Dubbo Wanderers (SDW) Gunners 3 - 0 in their division 2 Grand Final matchup.
The SDW side played a strong & disciplined game, but Warriors took control around mid 1st half and never looked back from then.
The whole Wellington team put in a well structured performance and the match officials awarded the game ball (best on field) to Briana Trappet.
Coach Nick Trappet said he was really happy with the teams performance, "the players stuck to our game plan and achieved a great result".
Under 17s played the undefeated SDW Hurricanes in a see-sawing match which saw them drawn 1-1 at full time. The match then went in to extra time where SDW snuck in a lucky goal 2minutes before the end to give them the narrowest of wins in what was a thrilling & high quality game.
Dubbo District association manager Jim Auld described the game as "a fantastic contest and a tremendous highlight to the under 17s season... a credit to both teams"
Wellington U17 coach Damien Beattie said "I am really proud of what the boys have achieved this season, they've played some great football and put together some gritty wins in key games. They're a very young side in this 17s division, they'll be a real force next season".
Aiden Carr was given the match ball by the refs.
Congratulations to both 15s & 17s teams on a great season.
Under 11s received a forfeit in their last game, which sees them complete the season undefeated. A draw in early August was as close as any team came.
What a season these kids have had, playing some really good soccer and having a great time doing it.
These kids have had a great fun season as well winning some games and being rolled in others, but also playing some great soccer and getting their teamwork and soccer skills going. Well done.

Thank you to all those ladies and gents that assisted in the canteen this season. It’s a small amount of time to spend in the canteen for an entire season if everyone helps out for an hour to help our kids. A special thanks the Charmaine Cubillo for the effort she puts in every week, much appreciated.
